Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Vehicle Maintenance Tracker handles information when you use the mobile application, including vehicle records, maintenance information, expenses, documents, fuel records, reminders, backups, exports, and advertising services.

Privacy summary: Your vehicle records, maintenance history, mileage, expenses, receipts, documents, fuel entries, and manual backups are primarily stored locally on your device. We do not operate an account or cloud-sync system for this information. The app does, however, use Google Mobile Ads, which may process advertising and device-related information separately from your locally stored vehicle records.

1. Overview

Vehicle Maintenance Tracker is designed as a primarily offline vehicle-management application. You can use its core maintenance and ownership features without creating an account.

Most information you enter into the application is stored in the application's private storage on your Android device. We do not operate a cloud database containing your personal vehicle records.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Depending on how you use the application, the following information may be stored locally:

Vehicle information Vehicle nickname, make, model, year, fuel type, registration information, and current mileage.
Mileage records Odometer updates and mileage history used for maintenance calculations.
Maintenance information Maintenance schedules, service dates, service mileage, custom maintenance items, status, and service history.
Expenses Amounts, currencies, categories, dates, descriptions, notes, and optional links to maintenance records.
Vehicle documents Document types, reference numbers, issue dates, expiry dates, notes, and attachments you choose to add.
Receipts and attachments Images or PDF files that you voluntarily import into the application.
Fuel information Fill-up dates, odometer values, quantities, costs, currencies, tank status, station names, and notes.
Preferences Currency, reminder preferences, notification settings, and other application configuration.

This information is used to provide the application's functions, including maintenance calculations, service history, reminders, expense tracking, fuel-economy calculations, document status, reports, and backups.

3. Advertising and Google Mobile Ads

Vehicle Maintenance Tracker displays advertising using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

The advertising SDK may automatically process information such as:

  • your device's IP address;
  • device or account-related identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID where available;
  • application interactions, such as app launches, ad interactions, taps, and similar usage events;
  • diagnostic and performance information relating to the application and advertising SDK;
  • general or approximate location inferred from an IP address in connection with advertising services.

Google may use this information for purposes including advertising, ad measurement, analytics, security, fraud prevention, and delivery of advertising services.

Vehicle Maintenance Tracker does not intentionally send your maintenance history, registration information, uploaded receipts, vehicle documents, expense notes, or fuel notes to Google Mobile Ads for ad targeting.

Advertising information processed by Google is governed by Google's applicable privacy and advertising policies.

5. Maintenance Notifications

If you enable maintenance reminders, the application may send local Android notifications when maintenance is due soon or overdue.

Notification evaluation is performed locally using your vehicle and maintenance information. Your maintenance schedule does not need to be uploaded to a server in order to generate these reminders.

On supported Android versions, the application requests notification permission when required. You may disable notifications or change notification permissions through the application or Android system settings.

6. Receipts, Documents, and Private Files

You may voluntarily select images or PDF files to use as receipts or vehicle-document attachments.

Selected files are copied into the application's private storage. The application does not require broad access to all files or photos stored on your device.

When you explicitly choose to open an attachment in another compatible application, Android may temporarily grant that application permission to read the selected file.

This temporary access is controlled through Android's secure content-sharing mechanisms and does not expose the application's entire private storage.

7. Exports and Manual Backups

Vehicle Maintenance Tracker allows you to manually create exports and portable backups.

Depending on your action, exports may contain information such as maintenance history, expenses, fuel history, vehicle summaries, or other data shown in the application. A complete backup may also include attachments.

Export and backup creation is initiated by you. Android's system document interface lets you choose where the file is saved.

Once you export or back up information outside the application's private storage, the resulting file is controlled by you and by the storage provider or application where you choose to save, copy, or share it.

Vehicle Maintenance Tracker does not automatically upload these backups to our servers and does not currently provide automatic cloud backup or multi-device synchronization.

8. Android Permissions and System Access

The application may use the following permissions or system capabilities:

Network state Supporting network-dependent advertising and content functionality.
Notifications Sending maintenance reminders when you enable them.
Advertising ID May be accessed by Google Mobile Ads for advertising-related purposes where available and permitted.
System document picker Selecting receipts/documents and choosing locations for exports and backups.

The application does not require location, contacts, microphone, broad storage, or calendar permissions for its current core functionality.

9. When Information May Be Shared

We do not operate a cloud service that receives your locally stored vehicle-maintenance database, receipts, documents, expenses, or fuel records.

Information may nevertheless be processed or shared in these circumstances:

  • Advertising services: Google Mobile Ads may collect and share advertising, device, interaction, diagnostic, and related information as described above.
  • User-directed exports: when you save or share an export, PDF, or backup to another location or application.
  • External file viewers: when you explicitly open a private receipt or document using another application.
  • Legal obligations: where disclosure is required by applicable law and information is actually available to us.

We do not sell your locally stored vehicle, maintenance, expense, receipt, document, or fuel records.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Local application data generally remains on your device until you delete or archive records, clear application data, uninstall the application, or otherwise remove the relevant information.

Some application records use archival behavior to preserve historical integrity rather than immediately deleting related maintenance history.

Information processed independently by Google Mobile Ads is subject to Google's applicable retention and deletion practices.

11. Security

Vehicle Maintenance Tracker uses Android application private storage for its local database and imported attachments.

Attachments are shared externally only when you request it, using temporary Android content permissions. Portable backups use integrity checks to help identify corrupted backup data before restoration.

No method of electronic storage or communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should protect access to your Android device and securely store any backup or export files you create.

12. Children's Privacy

Vehicle Maintenance Tracker is intended for vehicle owners and users managing vehicle maintenance. It is not designed as a service directed specifically to children.

If the application's Play Store target-audience configuration changes in the future, advertising and privacy configuration must also be reviewed to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

13. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on the feature and your region, you may be able to:

  • disable maintenance notifications;
  • change Android notification permissions;
  • review eligible advertising privacy choices;
  • reset or delete your Android Advertising ID through Android system controls;
  • archive or remove information stored in the app;
  • export your vehicle information;
  • create a portable backup of your local information;
  • clear the application's data using Android system settings.

Because the current version does not provide user accounts or cloud synchronization, most vehicle-related data is controlled directly through the copy of the application installed on your device.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the application, third-party services, legal requirements, or our data practices change.

The effective date displayed at the top of this page will be updated when material revisions are published.
